Favendo resists the corona pandemic by expanding its business areas. IGO from Chile is the first new customer for a hybrid indoor/outdoor tracking solution in the mining sector. The cooperation aims to fully integrate the Favendo asset tracking solution into the customer’s own i-gat platform by Q1 2021 at the latest and shall be used both in open-pit mining and underground.
In a first step, Favendo’s indoor tracking solution will be installed. This step includes the delivery of the hardware of the in-house developed relay series as well as the setup of the Commander administration software. IGO has also opted for a cloud solution hosted by Favendo.
IGO’s goal is to improve mining productivity in Latin America through technology-based services and last-mile data. The company selected Favendo as its new European technology partner in March. With i-gat, the company already has a platform for obtaining relevant KPIs.
Our technology enables the client to track its workers anonymously in the first phase of the collaboration, in order to gain a more precise insight into workflows and work processes. Favendo’s zone tracking solution replaces the check-in RFID solution used so far, which cannot provide real-time data. In addition, a classic asset tracking system will be installed in order to track the position and utilization of vehicles. Favendos Asset Tracking will replace the previously manual usage reporting.
Chile is the world leader in copper mining. The partners of Favendos’ new asset tracking customer include the state-owned group Codelco and the country’s leading private mining group, Minera Antucoya.
