The patent, titled “Temperature Determination from Brain Thermal Tunnel,” adds to DeCurtis’ deep technology portfolio and is focused on enhancing the accuracy of temperature determination of an individual from thermal camera data.
The patent focuses on a system for very accurately determining a person’s temperature while eliminating environmental effects. This is especially important for outdoor areas or complex indoor spaces, like cruise ships, where environmental temperatures cause problems for other thermal scans. Using thermal cameras to assess elevated body temperatures is a great early indicator of illness. The accurate data produced by the patent-protected solution is now an essential solution for mitigating the spread of illness.
Health and safety for the cruise industry
The existing partnership between Favendo and DeCurtis aims to enhance RTLS and help cruise lines and other industries improve safety. DeCurtis Shield is a standalone solution that mitigates health risks and supports protocols to reduce the spread of disease by using a combination of facial recognition and thermal imaging technology to assess temperature. Shield captures actionable data so industries can quickly deploy this solution to protect their employees, businesses and guests.
