2 In the next step, we plan the hardware infrastructure for your wayfinding solution based on your construction plans. Favendo’s mobile indoor navigation is based on a precise, Bluetooth-based indoor positioning system. The building itself will be equipped with a Beacon infrastructure. The smartphone of the user serves as the receiver of the signals that the beacons constantly send out. The position within the building is calculated and displayed on the smartphone using an app based on the signal strength of the beacons. Experience has shown that four BLE transmitters are sufficient per 100 sqm. You may have heard that other technologies are more accurate than beaconing. That’s true. But they are also – like UWB – much more expensive. For indoor navigation in buildings or on cruise ships Bluetooth is completely sufficient and offers the best price-performance ratio as well as the lowest maintenance effort.
3 On the basis of your building plans, we create the floor plans, i.e. the map material that is available to the end user. In your CI.
4 At the same time we initialize and personalize the Commander Location Engine for your project. Then you get access to the web-based Commander Frontend. The floor plans are uploaded here by drag and drop and the routes within your infrastructure are determined. We can design the routes as you wish. For example, as the shortest route, suitable for the disabled or so that users are led past a certain shop. Also all contents and information, which you want to make available to your visitors or guests, are entered here uncomplicatedly.
5 We provide you with the localisation and navigation software as an SDK. These are prepared program snippets that are integrated into your app by us or by your app agency. If you do not have an app, we can of course provide a white label app for you. And if you have one, you can be sure: There is hardly anything that enhances an app as much as an indoor navigation.
6 In the meantime, we have equipped your building with the necessary hardware. This can be done in a very substance-saving way (all transmitters can be removed) and during operation. You don’t have to close your office or leave your customers out in front of closed doors.
7 That is it. After the infrastructure is in operation and the SDK is integrated into the app, your visitors, employees or guests – after an update – have a comfortable wayfinding solution on their own smartphone at their disposal.
