About Bamberg:

The old imperial town and bishopric Bamberg is regarded as one of the most beautiful cities in Germany. In 1993 Bamberg’s Old Town was included in the UNESCO World Heritage list due to its unique urban architecture. The townscape  with it’s core from the middle ages is influenced by the gothic and bourgeois baroque age.  First mentioned in 902 around 80.000 people are now living in “Franconian Rome” – a nickname stemming from the seven hills the town is built upon. Almost 14.000 students attend the University of Bamberg giving the city a vibrant and pulsating atmosphere. Bamberg also offers a lot of different opportunities for arts and culture, sports and other leisure activities.
